Svefn Plural – Skyhook

When time passes after things after they breathe for a while I guess one can understand it existence better in many aspects. And now I can see it is pretty simple even I thought there were many ideas, deep thoughts behind it. But I guess there isn’t.

The idea can be explained though two movies which I have really admired which depicts different kind of extremes. One is a japanese horror movie called ‘Shutter’, the way that a pure, truthful love can turn to a horrible thing but also remain same felt extremely logical and beautiful to me. Another movie is a Swedish movie called ‘Let the right one in’. And here we see a very dark ritual performed only for love. The scene where Eli comes to Oskar and says ‘Do I smell better now?’ should tear one apart. How he both extremes makes sense to me and feels so sadly beautiful is the atmosphere and overall feeling I would want to be attached to this artwork.

After the idea I guess the style must develop. At that point my two influences must be James Joyce’s Ulysees and Finnegan’s Wake. The way he creates events where you have parallel worlds, parallel takes on things happening at once seemed to be the solution for all. And Carravagio for his chiaroscuro. The heavy contrast. The sudden change of things is perfect to dramatizing every thing. So it’s all about saying things without actually saying them
